BRIEF HISTORY
Al-kawthar Model College was founded by Al-Kawthar Foundation. The school commenced with 11 students in Junior Secondary School 1 in September, 2002. The school was founded to compliment previous efforts at providing balanced education at the post-primary level and to accommodate Islamic Secondary Schools to accommodate the great number of graduates from Pre-primary and Primary Islamic Educational Institutions to ensure continuity.
Our School was founded to provide students with excellent academic programs and a nurturing environment with close student-teacher relationships.

WHO WE ARE
The college mission is to provide qualitative and balanced education at affordable price to all Muslim Parents. It is a mixed school with day and boarding facilities. The college offers subjects in the National Curriculum which prepares the students for all external examination both at Junior and Senior levels. Our junior Students sit for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) organised by Ogun State Ministry of Education Science and Technology while the Senior Students offer the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (WASSCE May/June) and National Examinations Council Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (NECO June/July). The college emphasizes science-oriented subjects due to the inadequacy of Muslim presence in this area. We want to produce students who will be highly qualified to read Medical Sciences and Engineering.
In order to ensure balance in the education of our students, the School conducts standard Arabic and Islamic Lessons for all students. There, students are trained how to recite the Holy Quran with Tajwid (Observation of the laws guiding the science of Quran recitation).
They are also exposed to fundamental and basic knowledge of Arabic language such as Nahw (Grammar) Sarf (Ethymology),Imlau(Dictation),Khatu(Writing), Fiqh(Islamic Jurisprudence), Hadith (Sayings,deeds and silent approval of the prophet) and Tafsir (Explanation of the Holy Qur’an) leading to the award of Hidaadiyah Certificate at the end of their Senior Secondary Education. We assure parents that your child will be able to recite the Holy Qur’an Fluently by the end of the Junior Secondary Education. We also emphasise memorization of the Holy Qur’an and this is the more reason why the subject Hifzu-ul-Qur’an is included in the time table of the school handled by competent Hafiz (Memorizer). The school also appreciates the maxim: a sound mind in a sound body and introduces martial art practice which is also handled by an expert in that field. The School is blessed with competent and dedicated graduate teachers in different fields.
There is no gainsaying the fact that one of the factors that impede Muslim parents from sending their children to standard Islamic Secondary Schools is the high fees charged which undoubtedly is beyond their capability. Consequently, the Board of Governors of the School is determined to keep the fees of the school moderately low and affordable to all Muslim Parents irrespective of their status. The college expenditure will continue to be subsidized through other means. So, the fees charged for both day and boarding facilities is keep relatively low to enable all to enjoy this great opportunity.
In conclusion, in these days of Cultism in Schools, falling Educational Standard, Commercialization of Education and Secularisation of Knowledge, Al-Kawthar Model College has come to fulfill the aspiration of parents for Allah’s conscious oriented education, high standard Islamic and Western Education combined with high moral standard for their children.
